LAURA PADGETT LITIGATION UPDATE 20

At approximately 9:50 PM May 31st, Orleans,
Mass Police showed up at the home of
Thomas Padgett in South Orleans, with
an extradition warrant to return him to 
Kentucky for yet another fugitive from
(in)justice charge, where scientologist Laura
Padgett is the complaining witness.

Three squad cars show up to apprehend
Mr. Padgett as the papers they received from
Kentucky indicated they wanted him held
WITHOUT bail!  Padgett spent over an hour in
a 5' X 7' cell stripped of his belt and shoelaces
before his lawyer brother John showed up
with a bail commissioner (bondsman.)
After explaining the cult involvement and the
19th century mentality of the small western
Kentucky town that originated the legal
proceedings (harassment,) Padgett was
released on his own recognizance and
$25 in cash.  He has to be in court at 8:30
AM the next day to defend extradition at
this time.

Padgett's family and close friends are
appealing to ARS'ers to talk up this criminal
set up, which follows a pattern of Paulette
Cooper, Steve Fishman, Dennis Erlich, and
recently Bob Minton and Mark Bunker.  As
well to seek out all media/press attention
as required at this time.

Footnote: On March 17, 2000, N.Y.C. SCN
Pres. John Carmichael claimed Padgett was a
convicted felon at the Leo J. Ryan Foundation
Conference in Stamford, Conn.  This was a
totally false statement, but the cult and Tom's
ex are trying to make this a reality.
